Hi everyone!
It was so awesome to see all of your happy smiling faces this morning on our Google Hangout- especially because we were expecting to not be able to see you all!
My favourite part was hearing about what you'd all been up to! I love that most of you are continuing some form of learning from home! I especially impressed with those of you who are all updating your blogs regularly as well.
We miss you all and will organise some more Google Hangouts for after the holiday break. Remember though, that you can still email us if you have any questions and we will reply as soon as we can!
A little reminder for your next Google Hangout to make sure you are not in your bedroom- remember your cybersmart lessons!
Keep up the great stuff you're doing during this time everyone!
- Miss McLeod
Welcome to our Team Raupō blog for 2021. We are a collaborative space of Year 4, 5 and 6's with 4 teachers. We are in the Uru Mānuka Cluster. This is a place where we will share our learning. Please note that some of it will not be complete, it will be our first drafts. Remember to be positive, thoughtful and helpful when you leave a comment. Please check out our individual blogs as well.

Google Hangout
It was great to see a lot of our students this morning on our first Google Hangout. It was lovely to see you all and hear what you have been getting up to during the first few days of the lockdown, and to talk about the home learning that you have been doing.
We will do another one soon.
Keep safe. Be kind. We will be OK.

Update 1 from Mrs Jones
I hope you are all being kind, staying safe and staying home.
I thought I would update you every once in a while about what I am doing during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Yesterday my daughter helped me in the garden and we cut some hedges and bushes. It was lovely to be outside in the sunshine. We even had morning tea outside. We made friends with a kitten who must belong to one of our neighbours. It meowed a lot more than a normal cat but it was super friendly. It even managed to sneak into our house when Chelsea was bringing my coffee outside to me!
On Tuesday some of the teachers brought jigsaws to school and swapped them with each other. I have started a jigsaw that Mrs Harris has lent me. I have managed to get most of the outside edge finished so far. I have been using colour to sort similar pieces. There are a lot of trees! It is good because it can just sit on the table and I can do a little bit when I walk past it.
This morning Chelsea and I went for a big 40 minute walk around the block. It was good to get outside and have some fresh air. It was kind of weird that there were hardly any cars driving around but also good that people are following the rules and staying at home.
I baked scones for lunch today which was yummy.
I have also been playing around with Google 3D view - when you Google an animal you can select to se it in 3D and you see a lion or a goat in your lounge with you. I have put a link to the instructions on our learning site in the Home Learning section.
I have been enjoying checking my emails from our students who are doing some amazing home learning and putting new posts on their blogs.
If you want to tell me what you have been up to so far, leave me a comment below.

Canterbury Rugby Visit
On Tuesday we were lucky enough to have a visit from Canterbury Rugby and 4 trophies. 30 students from our space were chosen to be involved in a skills session as well.

Hockey
Today Will from Canterbury Hockey came to school and every home class had a hockey lesson. He showed us how to hold the hockey stick correctly and we practised dribbling a ball with the hockey stick. We have lots more lessons to come in the coming weeks.
The wind made it extra tricky as it blew our ball away - hopefully it won't be windy next week.
Here are some photos of Mrs Jones' home class at their hockey lesson.
